Saurkundi pass is situated in western part of Manali in Dhauladhar Range of western Himalaya. Dhauladhar range is the one of the shortest range of western Himalaya it start from Dharamshala and ends in the Beas kund region of Manali. The highest mountain in this range is Mt. Hanuman Tibba (5993mts). Saurkundi pass will start from Baror village a small village in the Manali known for its beautiful waterfall and pass through apple gardens, Cedar, Fir and Pine Oak Forest and between beautiful meadows. It is not one of the easy treks because you have to climb steep parts in first four- five days. The trek ends at the famous tourist point of Hadimba Temple Manali. During the trek we will stay at a holy lake Saurkundi. The lake of Maharishi Shandilya from here you can take a 360 degree look of Pir Panjal, Dauladhar range and stunning views of Mt. Indrasan, Rohtang Pass and Manali city.

Here goes your Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Manali & Drive to Baror

  • As you arrive in Manali. Our representative will pick you up from Bus Stop to the assembling point.
  • We will start our drive from Manali to Baror (5kms), a small village in Manali town.
  • In the evening we will go for a short acclimatization walk to village Shaleen.
  • Overnight stay in tents.

Day 2: Baror to Kalont

  • After breakfast we will start the trek for today’s camp Kalont.
  • We will go through cedar forest and apple gardens. On the way we will see beautiful view of villages of Manali.
  • We will reach Kalont till lunch.
  • In Kalont there is a wooden temple of Maharishi Shandilya, this temple is also known as birth place of Maharishi Shandilya.
  • Pitch your tents for the overnight stay here.

Day 3: Kalont to Dugh

  • Take your breakfast at Kalont and we will leave for our next camp Dugh.
  • This is a beautiful camp site to reach there we will cross a stream a short steep climb.
  • After lunch we will do Rappelling on a rock patch situated near our camp. This rock patch is around 120ft long.

  • Overnight stay in tents.

Day 4: Dugh to Longa Thatch

  • After breakfast you will leave for Longa Thatch, the most beautiful & difficult day of the trek.
  • Today will be the most difficult day of trek because you have to climb a steep portion to reach Longa Thatch.
  • It is the most beautiful camp site of the trek the view of Manali from here is magnificent.
  • On the way we will cross two- three beautiful meadows, oak, fir forest and rhododendron.
  • After the lunch we will learn some basic rock climbing skills.
  • Overnight stay will be in tents.

Day 5: Longa Thatch to Saurkundi Lake

  • After breakfast we will leave for our next destination Saurkundi Lake.
  • A beautiful camp site, here we will pitch our tents close to the lake.
  • The campsite is surrounded by Himalayan flora and fauna you can try to identify some of them.
  • Overnight stay will be in tents.

Day 6: Saurkundi Lake to Lama Dugh

  • Take your breakfast and get ready for the longest day of the entire trek.
  • Today we will start from Saurkundi Lake and during first 2-3 hours it is a steep climb. After reaching on the top you can see Manalsu Glacier the origin of Manalsu river of Old Manali.
  • Then a steep descend to Lama Dugh campsite another meadow. Lamadugh is famous spot of day hiking in Manali.
  • There is also a forest hut in Lama Dugh. This place surrounded by cedar and walnut forest.
  • Overnight stay will be in tents.

Day 7: Lama Dugh to Manali via Hadimba Temple

  • Take your breakfast early in the morning and leave for your last day of the trek.
  • This is the Last and easy day of trek. After the 2 – 3 hours of descend we will reach Hadimba Temple. A famous tourist spot in Manali.
  • This temple is built in 1507 it is the oldest temple in Manali from here around in 20 minutes we will reach Manali our end point of Saurkundi Trek.
  • The trek ends with beautiful memories.

  • Cancellation 30 days prior to the trip- 100% return.
  • Cancellation 15 days prior to the trip- 50% return.
  • Cancellation less than 15 days prior to the trip- No Refund.
  • Cancellation policy in case of inclement weather :-

In case of rough weather, we (Adventure Singh) have the full discretion, whether to go ahead with the trip/expedition or not. In case of cancellation due to rough weather, we will provide you with an alternate trip. The dates and the cost of trip may vary. In such cases following will apply:-

a. Cost of alternate trip > Cost of booked trip: Customer has to pay extra difference in cost
b. Cost of alternate trip < Cost of booked trip: Customer will be paid back the extra difference in cost.
c. In case we (Adventure Singh) are unable to find a replacement for the trip, customer will get the full refund.

  • Streptsils Lozenges – Chewable tablets for sore throat.
