Camp Chrysalid was created in 2008 by Vikas and Amaresh. Taking this trip promises to engulf you in this sort of “bubble” like state where you’ve got no idea what’s going on in the outside world and you wouldn’t care less. The camp is quiet and green, with tall trees and a river by it, giving it a most serene atmosphere. Pleasant climate and easy accessibility year round are achieved due to the moderate altitude here. To be one with the nature and lost in the right direction amongst the wilderness our camp is built at a good distance from the hustle bustle of regular traffic.

Hiring a localized staff not only brings in this certain Je Ne Sais Quoi and adds to their already thriving hospitality but it also helps create community involvement, providing employment to unskilled locals. Every adventure activity and the equipments used during it are well inspected and no expense has been spared on the quality of it all, be it a Rock face or backpacking along the riverside. It is vital to the camp that the accommodation and meals provided are not only hygienic and green but extremely comfortable, pleasing to the eye, fresh and well balanced.

Unlike other destinations, they present end to end panacea to all guests, a good example being their outbound training programs. Most corporate structures would appreciate the camps affiliation with the international organization called Leave No Trace which propagates safe and environmentally mindful principles. This is why the camp is designed in an ecologically susceptible manner, drawing from local expertise like proper disposal of waste and renewable energy systems (solar). The staff here believe in giving a personalized form of attention to everyone who joins in on this voyage as there is no WiFi in the forest but the promise is that you will find a better connection.

Dharamshala formerly known as Bhagsu is situated in the higher reaches of the splendorous Kangra Valley placed in the southern spur of the snow strewn Dhauladhar Range of the Himalayas in India. This camp cum learning centre untouched by the hand of man, where nature has still not been rearranged makes for a lovely trip and is located at the lovely yet quaint Village Mohal Tou in Dharamshala, district Kangra, Himachal Pradesh.

The region here is surrounded by dense coniferous forests comprising primarily of majestic Deodar trees. If finding serenity and your true spiritual self are one of the things on your bucket list then look no further because not far from our location is the village of McLeod Ganj residence to the Dalai Lama known the world over for his spiritual presence and holiness.

Other factors that make Chrysalid an ideal weekend getaway are its propinquity to the paragliding take off point in Dharamshala at the famous temple of Indru Nag. The camp spread across 2 acres of terraced land is conveniently accessible by road, perched on a ridge which gradually climbs into thick pine and oak trees that overlook the gorge formed from the stream coming from Bhagsu Nag fall.
